Recent statistics released from the Wichita Falls Multiple Listing System revealed that the number of homes closed and the sales volume for 2010 nearly mirrors the numbers from 2009 for the month of January.  The Wichita Falls real estate market remains steady after an approximate 9% decline in 2009 from 2008.  A positive note for January is that the number of placed into the market declined by 30 from January 2009.  It was just announced this week bt the Wichita Falls Chamber of Commerce and Industry that a new call center was coming into Wichita Falls creating a possible 150 jobs which could have apositive impact on the real estate market.

As we evaluate the Wichita Falls real estate market 45 days into 2010, the term that seems most adequate is fragile.  With interest rates still at 5% level for a 30 year fixed rate mortgage and the government stimulus plan still available until April 30th, it remains an incredible opportunity for the buyer....however the weakness in the economy from job loss and layoffs is affecting the number of buyers able to take advantage of the opportunity.  In the Wichita Falls market the 2010 market is not very kind to the seller because of inventory accumulation.  The Bishop Realtor Group continues to advise sellers that it is "a price war and a beauty contest."  The Bishop Realtor Groups numbers for the first 45 days are solid thanks to a great lead generation program.

Star Power Systems CEO, Alex Charfen, and three of his team members from Austin, Texas spent two days recently interviewing and filming Bishop Realtor Group co-owner, Ashton Gustafson.  Star Power will produce and make available to the market  a cd and dvd of Ashton in his work environment.  Alex Charfen acquired Star Power from longtime real estate consultant educator, Howard Brinton.

Grant McCasland, head basketball coach at Midwestern State University, is the current guest on the tv show, The Bishop Realtor Group Real Estate Report. Grant is in his first year as the Midwestern men's coach and his team is currently ranked in the top 10 of NCAA division II teams with a 20 win and 1 loss record.Bishop Realtors, Ashton Gustafson and Denny Bishop, are the hosts for their tv  show which telecasts three times weekly on Time Warner, cable channel 15.  Besides their guest the 30 minute show is filled with real estate information, real estate data amd statistics, information about The Bishop Realtor Group listings,etc..

Bishop Realtor Group team member Ashton Gustafson became an owner of The Bishop Realtor Group joining Ann Bishop and Denny Bishop.  Ashton has been a team member for a nearly five years.  He has earned his Texas Real Estate Brokers license  as well as the professional designations of E-Pro and CDPE.  Ashton is a Baylor University graduate with busines dgree from the Herkimer Business School in marketing.  Ashton has been named a Star Power Star with his interview to be dispensed to the national market in April.  The Bishop Realtor Group have been market leaders in Wichita Falls, Texas market for over 25 years.
